Who I Am
As a graduate of music from Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and a recent graduate of Merton College's violin making programme and an enthusiastic student of the British Violin Makers Association (BVMA) Courses, I have a passion for the art of bow restoration and preservation. At Barnett Bows, I'm dedicated to revitalising the performance of your violin, viola, cello, and bass bows through rehairing and select restoration services.
My focus:
Rehairing: I use only the finest, ethically sourced horsehair, meticulously applied with the skills honed at Merton College and further refined through the BVMA's intensive short courses.
Bow Repairs: For bows requiring additional care, I offer restoration services for faces, lappings, and thumb leathers, ensuring optimal playability and longevity.
Open Communication: I believe in clear and honest communication. I'll assess your bow's condition, discuss your needs, and set realistic expectations throughout the process.
What sets Barnett Bows apart?
Dedication to Craftsmanship: Every step, from inspection to rehairing and restoration, is performed with meticulous attention to detail and respect for your Bow’s unique character.
Continuous Learning: My commitment to ongoing education through the BVMA ensures I stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and materials, providing the best possible care for your bow.
Personalised Approach: I understand that each bow is as unique as the musician who plays it. I work collaboratively with you to achieve your performance goals and restore your bow to its full potential.
